Wings to Fly
Is a national, non-profit organization that promotes life long self-esteem in young women. Beginning with a fun, educational and inspirational one week educational camp, Wings to Fly focuses on the 4 building blocks of life: emotional, physical, spiritual and financial.
By integrating inspiration, knowledge, research based resources and coaching into her daily life, a young woman can aspire with confidence and self respect to design the life she dreams and become a leader of tomorrow.
What do girls do?
From high ropes courses to rock climbing to team building girls learn about themselves and how to work with others effectively. Wings Camp activities also include hiking, art projects, swimming, yoga, horseback riding, stars gazing, singing, dancing, skits, learning about money, learning about your body and self exploration just to name a few. It is fun with purpose. Girls even learn how to build a business.
How do girls build confidence at camp?
We work with girls on the four building blocks of life – emotional, physical, financial, and spiritual - they learn to journal, they learn how to cooperate with others, cooking classes and nutrition and real communication skills so they can own their voice.
What is our focus?
In a fun, interactive way we educate and inspire girls to be who they are and dream who they will become.
What ages to you focus on?
12 to 17 (16 and 17 year old girls get the unique opportunity to be campers as well as teen mentors. This gives them the opportunity to learn about leadership.)
The future
Wings programming is currently being developed and launched into schools and non-profit organizations to support Communities. Our goal is to reach 50,000 girls and families within 10 years.
